SUPPORT the DELANEY hall HUNGER STRIKE

Note: This is not a Hands Off NYC organized action. As one of our founding principles, we show up in solidarity with other cities under attack, and immigrant communities nationwide.

300+ detainees continue their strike and work stoppage today at GEO Group’s Delaney Hall. They remain steadfast in their demands:

  1. An immediate MEETING between strikers and NJ Governor Mikie Sherrill so she can witness conditions firsthand and hear directly from those detained.

  2. The immediate RELEASE of the most vulnerable detainees, including elderly individuals, young people and those with serious medical conditions.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Maintaining significant numbers outside Delaney is working, and shifts have been organized to maintain constant presence and pressure day and night.

In addition to the strikers’ demands, their families and folks on the ground are demanding a moratorium on transfers.

The support of on the ground efforts at Delaney have seen some detainees be granted their freedom, and a significant drop in ICE activity in Westchester county and NYC for the moment.

    Help us make art for the ongoing protests in support of striking detainees at Delaney Hall!

    From 12-4pm, we need the help of some volunteers to create art for the ongoing protests happening in New Jersey.

    Due to the nature of interactions outside delaney hall, much of the news coverage does not uplift the demands that began this protest. It is important that we remind those in the media what we're here for, and why we won't stop.

    This art will be used to clearly highlight the demands of those striking inside, and ensure that photos and videos from Delaney uplift those demands.
