MAY DAY: WE WILL NOT BE SILENT MARCH

Friday, May 1, 4:00PM: Join the New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO; New York Immigration Coalition; union & community members from across the City to commemorate International Workers Day!

International Workers’ Day, or May Day, is the day the world celebrates the bravery of workers throughout history who have sacrificed for safety, dignity and justice on the job.

We’re united in our resolve to fight for a better future for ALL workers abroad and at home, including those targeted by this administration.

Our solidarity is our strength. We take pride in knowing that we are a global movement standing up to the billionaires who are threatening our rights and freedoms.

We'll gather to rally in Washington Square Park and march down Broadway in solidarity to Foley Square.

Long Island City Local Day Laborer Outreach

Every Wednesday morning local volunteers build relationships with day laborers as allies, witnesses, neighbors, and friends. Please register for location details.

RSVP here: https://www.mobilize.us/handsoffnyc/event/929272/

We commit to showing up regularly with love and care.

We build community locally (within 10-15 minutes of school, work, or home).

We provide coffee and food, supplies that support work, and information on rights and resources, with personal follow-up for specific requests.

We provide a friendly face and hope our presence increases community safety amid unlawful federal immigration activities.

We pursue this work inspired by the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) Adopt a Corner campaign. https://ndlon.org/adopt-a-day-labor-corner/
