hands off Faith election protection
In collaboration with Hands Off NYC Faith, Common Cause New York, and the Interfaith Center of New York
Every election season, our congregations do what they have always done: we show up for our neighbors. We visit the sick, feed the hungry, stand with people in crisis, and care for the communities entrusted to us. Protecting the vote is no different. It is an extension of our ministry and our commitment to ensuring that every person has the opportunity to be heard.

Faith Leader Election Preparedness Workshop
Tuesday, September 8th 6:00-8:00pm at St. Marks Church in the Bowery. Register here.
Faith calls us not only to pray in difficult times, but to prepare, organize, and respond with courage and compassion. As people of faith, we are called to be a steady presence for our communities and faithful stewards of our democracy.
Join clergy, faith leaders, and lay leaders from across New York City for an interactive tabletop exercise designed to help congregations prepare for potential election-related challenges before, during, and after Election Day.
What we’ll do
Together, we'll work through realistic scenarios involving misinformation, voter intimidation, immigration enforcement concerns affecting communities, and other disruptions that may impact our neighborhoods and congregations. Participants will assess their congregation's strengths, identify available tools and resources, develop contingency plans, and strengthen coordination across faith communities.
Whether you're a clergy member, lay leader, or faith-based organizer, you'll leave with practical strategies to help your congregation respond with wisdom, compassion, and confidence while supporting safe, peaceful, and accessible elections.
